Fire up your grill . . . and your taste buds. It’s the 4th annual Burger Battle by the Bay on May 4 sponsored by WEAR-TV, a burger-tasting event you don’t want to miss. Whether you like dry and plain cheeseburgers, or juicy and fully loaded double-stackers, bring the family and sample burgers from dozens of competitors and vote for your favorite.

“The competition for best burger is sizzling. Hundreds of people come out every year for a great time at Maritime Park and to vote for their favorite burger,” said Kirk Waters of SubWest Rotary. “It’s a fun family event with outstanding burgers, and all for a great cause.”

Local restaurants like The Burger Factory, Union Public House, Sammy Barker’s, Miller’s Ale House, and Scenic Hills Country Club will be competing for best burger, as well as numerous backyard experts. Celebrity judges include Chip Simmons (Escambia County Sheriff’s Office chief deputy), Bridget Kaye (News Radio 1620), and Allen Strum (WEAR-TV).

It’s Saturday, May 4, at Vince Whibbs Community Maritime Park, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., sponsored by Pensacola Suburban West Rotary to benefit the Rotary Foundation and Take Stock in Children, providing scholarships for underprivileged youth.
