n Wednesday, September 13, the Greater Pensacola Chamber hosted its 127th
Annual Meeting at Skopelos and New World. The luncheon featured the offi cial
passing of the gavel from current board chair to the incoming board chair, a
commemorative year in review, a keynote speaker, and annual Chamber awards.

Auburn University’s legendary football coach Pat Dye provided the keynote address, and

his remarks focused on leadership and teamwork in today’s business world.

Coach Dye was the head football coach at Auburn University from 1981 until 1992 where

he rebuilt the Auburn football program into a powerhouse in the Southeastern Conference.
His record at Auburn was 99-39-4; a 71%-win rate. Dye also served as Auburn’s Athletic
Director from 1981-1991 and coached 1985 Heisman Trophy winning running back Bo
Jackson.

The Greater Pensacola Chamber’s mission is to be a catalyst of positive and creative action

in the pursuit of excellence for the Greater Pensacola business community. Their vision is
to encourage a vibrant community working together to ensure a Greater Pensacola. The
overall goal is to promote an area rich in talent and resources that is committed to the ideals of
excellence, prosperity, innovation, and responsible growth for future generations.
