We are excited to host Alabama football legend and current Baltimore Ravens Executive Vice President Ozzie Newsome as our keynote speaker with special guest emcee Chris Stewart for our 2023 Scholarship Kick-Off event at Pensacola State College on June 29 beginning at 5 pm.

Known as “the Wizard,” Ozzie began his football career as a standout player under “Bear” Bryant from 1974-1977 and later went in the first round (23rd overall) in the NFL draft. He is a Hall of Fame player, the architect of Baltimore’s Super Bowl XXXV and Super Bowl XLVII championship teams and an elite personnel evaluator who became the NFL’s first African American general manager in 2002.

​Chris is in his 21st year with the Crimson Tide Sports Network, stepping in last season for Eli Gold as the voice of Alabama football. He is also the play-by-play announcer for the Men’s Basketball team and host of The Nick Saban Show. Chris is a five-time recipient of the National Sports Media’s “Alabama Sportscaster of the Year” award.

Individual tickets for the event are $30 each and include dinner (fried chicken, pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, baked beans, mac & cheese and peach cobbler) catered by The Fish House with iced tea, lemonade and complimentary beer to drink. Event admission also includes a Q&A with Ozzie and Chris and live and silent auctions.

All funds raised during the event benefit the Pensacola Bama Club’s Endowment Scholarship Fund, which is matched by the University of Alabama National Alumni Association.
