Spring sunshine, coastal breezes, and sweeping water views set the scene Sunday evening at the pool deck of Portofino Island Resort, where the 21st annual Soundside Splendor was held on May 3.
The food, wine, and auction event, presented by The Sandy Sansing Family, supports the Children’s Home Society of Florida and raised $424,000.
“Soundside celebrates impact,” said Adam Morris, senior development manager for the Children’s Home Society of Florida. “We have 15 programs dedicated to serving children and families. We believe in pursuing every child, so each one is ready to grow, ready to learn, and ready to earn.”
Founded in 1902, the Children’s Home Society of Florida works to guide children and families toward safety, stability, and opportunity, offering services that range from parent-child therapy to food, clothing, medical care, and life-skills training.
Guests in their coastal-casual attire drifted from the portico to the pool deck, sampling local cuisines and wines along the way. The evening also featured raffles and both silent and live auctions, including an original painting created on-site by local artist Sarah Soule Webb. Live music from steel drum performer Cavair Blake to piano and vocals by Dan Lovelok carried across the deck, blending laughter, mingling, and bayfront views.
