he Greater Pensacola Chamber’s 2026 State of the Military luncheon was held at Culinary Productions on May 5 bringing together community leaders, business professionals, and military representatives for an important discussion on the impact and future of the military presence in Northwest Florida. The annual event highlighted the strong partnership between the Pensacola community and the military installations that play such a vital role in the region’s economy and identity.

The event was emceed by Captain Scott Janik, US Navy, Retired, who guided the program and welcomed guests throughout the afternoon. Featured speakers included Captain Chandra Newman, Commanding Officer of NAS Pensacola, and Captain Ted Elkins, Commanding Officer of NAS Whiting Field. Both leaders shared updates on operations, training, workforce development, and the continued importance of the Pensacola area in supporting military readiness and aviation training.

Guests also heard about the positive economic and community impact the military brings to the Gulf Coast region, while reinforcing the importance of supporting military families and maintaining strong community relationships.
