Krewe of Avant Garde’s Masquerade Mardi Gras Ball February 25, 2022

Pensacola, FL – The Krewe of Avant Garde invites the community to their annual Masked Mardi Gras Ball at 6 p.m., Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Pensacola Yacht Club to show their support for our military and enjoy dancing with live band music by Wilk McKeen’s Dr. Breeze, dinner, fun, court program, and cash bar provided. Special salute to all our essential workers, health care providers, educators, first responders, and active duty who have faithfully continued to serve during the pandemic. Reservations are required for this formal event.
The Krewe of Avant Garde has been in existence since 1983 with the purpose to provide a visible military presence during the Mardi Gras festivities. This year will include a special salute to all essential workers and those who have continue to serve our community and country during the pandemic. The Krewe participates in parades as a way to honor and support our troops as they fly our country’s flag and the flags of each branch of our military services. Their float can be seen in the forefront of the Pensacola Mardi Gras parade, Veteran’s Day Parade, and Christmas Parade. Throughout the year, the Krewe hosts membership social events as part of the perks of joining the organization which can be viewed on their Facebook page – Krewe of Avant Garde.
The Mardi Gras Ball Chair, Dean Kirschner, comments, “Our Mardi Gras Ball is open to the public to come and see what our Krewe is all about. Although we honor our military, you do not need to be in the military to join our organization or participate in our events. We are a social organization – no speeches and no agenda other than to have fun and honor those who server and have served in our military.” The evening begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour followed by dinner, court presentation and mask program, and dancing.
