The Pensacola Police Department is recognizing Officer Taschetta for his efforts in our case on August 4th at 2:00 PM at the Bayview Community Center, 2001 East Lloyd Street, Pensacola, Florida 32503. On March 31, 2021, my husband and I were the victims of real estate wire fraud in Pensacola, Florida. We lost our lives’ savings in an instant. A local title company was hacked, and we wired $255,000.00 to a fraudulent account while trying to purchase a home for our young and growing family. It was a cash sale, and the money was gone.

The title company was unresponsive, but Officer Taschetta took charge. He worked tirelessly over the next several weeks – working straight through the following weekend (Good Friday until Easter Sunday) to successfully track down, freeze, and ultimately recover our funds. Some might say “it was his job,” but it was so, so much more than that. He called daily to give us an update offering the only glimmer of hope we had in an otherwise very challenging and confusing time. We knew he was incredible but were unaware of just how persistently he was pursuing our case until we later read his report. We were and are overwhelmed with gratitude for his efforts.

We are a success story in the world of wire fraud. We recovered all but $60,000.00 of our stolen funds. We know what the outcome would have been absent Officer Taschetta’s diligent and skillful work. He did not have to go to the lengths that he did for our family, and we singlehandedly credit him with the recovery of our funds.
